Everyone loves a thriller. The suspense, the fast pace and the cliffhanger at the end, where the moviegoer is guessing an outcome, sitting on the edge of the seat - all of this gives a high. People love a good thriller because it is a fictional amusement ride. These movies exploit the human nature as amusement rides - fear, anxiety, surprise, tension and excitement. A good thriller comes with the elements of a good plot, the element of surprise throughout the movie, a buildup of tension till the end, and a plot twist that makes the cinema goer scream in agony. The genre was popularised by Alfred Hitchcock, who is seen as a pioneer of thrillers.
