Looking for some of the best thrillers of all time? Read on for a list of good thrillers given here.
Everyone loves a thriller. The suspense, the fast pace and the cliffhanger at the end, where the moviegoer is guessing an outcome, sitting on the edge of the seat - all of this gives a high. A cinematic high which involves the patrons hitting their forehead, shaking their heads and staring into space, regretting - "Why did I not see that coming?!"
People love a good thriller because it is a fictional amusement ride. These movies exploit the human nature as amusement rides - fear, anxiety, surprise, tension and excitement. And if the movie is really good, the patron feels satisfied at the amount of buzz it creates inside the head, because the movie compels to think.
A good thriller comes with the elements of a good plot, the element of surprise throughout the movie, a buildup of tension till the end, and a plot twist that makes the cinema goer scream in agony. The genre was popularised by Alfred Hitchcock, who is seen as a pioneer of thrillers.
Alfred Hitchcock's movies like Psycho, Strangers on a Train, and North by the Northwest included signature scenes and styles which are still used by the directors today. Keeping these things in mind, we have made a list of good thriller movies. They are presented further.
